The Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) was established by an ACT of the National Assembly to coordinate, promote and facilitate the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in Nigeria. The Agency is hereby inviting applications from candidates suitable, qualified and competent for appointment into various positions as follows:
CATEGORY A:THE POSITION: DIRECTOR (GL 17) ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY AND INFRASTRUCTURE (ET&I)
JOB TITLE: Head (Engineering Technology & InfrastructureDepartment) REPORTING TO: Director- General (SMEDAN)DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Programme implementation in respect of bridging technological gaps of micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs);

Set objectives, goals, targets and plans for the department in line with the mandate of the Agency;
Coordination of capacity building programme for entrepreneurs and sustainable skills acquisition and upgrading;
Facilitation of access to infrastructure (cluster/industrial park, etc)
Linking of MSMEs to Research & Development results.
BASIC QUALIFICATION:
Candidates must possess a good first degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours (Lower Division) in Engineering, Post graduate training in any of the following field will be an added advantage, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials/Metallurgical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Candidate must have a minimum of twenty (20) years post-NYSC cognate working experience and appreciable /verifiable experience in MSME development and / or related activities.
Candidate should have full (Corporate) membership of Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) for a minimum of fifteen (15) years and should be registered by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) for a minimum of ten (10) years.
Must demonstrate understanding of the MSME sector.
Candidates must not be above 50 years.

DIRECTOR (GL 17): ENTERPRISE PROMOTION AND MANAGEMENT

Implementation of MSME development programmes, projects and schemes;
Promotion of entrepreneurship and capacity building;
Facilitation of Management consultancy, counselling and allied services for MSME promotion and development.
Promotion of advocacy and operating environment issues.
Promotion and facilitation of enterprise, linkages, cooperation/networkig, clustering and credit delivery for MSME
Promotion and facilitation of markets and marketing for MSME products; Provision of Information and business support services
BASIC QUALIFICATION
A good first degree or its equivalent in Social Sciences, Humanities,
Management and other Sciences with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours (lower division).
Relevant Post graduate degree will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Candidate must have a minimum of 20 years post-NYSC cognate working experience;
Excellent knowledge of local and global MSME dynamics, including familiarity with appropriate regulations, legislations, and operating environment;
Experience in financial institutions operations and management/ micro and small business or consumer lending;
A sound understanding of the MSME development strategies and comprehensive / effective support systems;
Strong ability to think strategically and holistically and to appreciate the systemic impact of various economic policies, issues and solutions on MSME development;
Demonstrate commitment to ethical standards and high level of integrity.

MSME Policy articulation, development and implementation;
Planning / Coordination of Agency's Programmes and activities.
Promotion of participation in sub-regional, regional and global initiatives and cooperation on MSME development;
Sourcing and coordination of technical assistance and inter-Agency cooperation;
Implementation of MSME sub-sectoral studies/surveys and promotion of private sector organizations, NGOs and trade groups;
Preparation of SMEDAN mandatory reports;
Custodian of Agency’s Data/Statistics;
BASIC QUALIFICATION Candidates must possess a good first degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours (Lower Division) in Social Sciences, Humanities & other Sciences. Post graduate degree will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Should possess the ability to drive unaided, a target based and policy driven planning department;
Ability to interface with multi-lateral development partners for MSME development;

JOB TITLE: Head (Inspectorate Department) REPORTING TO: Director-GeneralDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidates shall assist the Director-General in attainment of the objectives/mandate of the Agency
Monitor and Evaluate Agency's programmes and performance;
Compile reports from the various outreaches;
Provide guidance, supervision and support to field officers;
Ensure compliance of MSMEs, BDSPs and other stakeholders to government regulations;
Promotion of standardization and quality assurance;
